Summer Days

It’s almost 4:00 am but I’m not very sleepy. Maybe it’s because of the nap I took earlier. Oh well, I don’t really mind being awake if I have nothing to do the next day… which I don’t.

Today was really fun! Cameron, Beth, Lauren, Ashton, Sam and myself floated the Caddo River today (via Arkadelphia). The actual float wasn’t as long as I expected (about 3 hours) but it was still a blast. I didn’t burn nearly as bad as predicted. The past few days have actually been awesome, starting with Destiny’s visit. She came to stay with me for two nights last week — we ended up spending an entire day shopping in Little Rock and went out for drinks afterwards. Then, I got to see Garrett for the first time in months! Garrett, Beth, Jann, and I laid out for a few hours, got dressed up, and went to Ernie Bigg’s in Little Rock. We were all shit shows and probably shouldn’t have driven home, but oh well. The next day was all about relaxation so I didn’t hold much back. The Grey Goose shot halfway through the night was unnecessary. Thanks, random gay bar dude.

Well, the holiday weekend is over. I still don’t start work until Friday, but it feels like I have to get things in gear finally. I’m sad. I’ve really enjoyed this break from responsibility of any kind. I know that it will be good for me to work again; I just wish I could be doing it in a more exciting place. Like, LA. Or Washington DC. Or even Dallas.

I love burning candles in my room at night. It makes me feel like I’m not completely alone, which is nice.
